The latest entry in the long-running franchise features a timeline crafted by the Keeper of Time, meaning it takes place during the earliest Mortal Kombat tournaments. And on top of that its also a sequel, taking into account the crazy events of the last game while paying homage to MK titles from the PlayStation 2 days.
